Today was full of work, work, work. I stayed late and the day is over. But it’s a good thing – I have a job that I like, that supports me well. I have great co-workers, some of whom are good friends. I am blessed. I’ve had this job for eight years and it was an answered prayer.
Why are these games on so late? And why do I stay up watching them? I don’t really follow any sports, but when the local team is in the championships, I get sucked in.
I do enjoy baseball, but it can be a little slow. So I’m enjoying a biography about Louisa May Alcott between plays. I was inspired,of course, by the trip to Orchard House. What a fascinating woman she was.
Today the family clan moved from my house to my sisters house. She had some furniture to rearrange so we all pitched in. Chaos ensued. At one point Connor got caught between a cabinet and the wall. We were successful, however. A little more successful than Ross Geller (PIVOT!)
Mom and Dad are visiting for the weekend. We had no big plans, which was great. Instead, we just relaxed and enjoyed being with each other. We all ended up at my house for dinner. I made chicken soup and biscuits. It was a perfect meal, sitting around the table with family.
Connor found a brochure with the Minuteman statue. He was impressed with his “shoot”. He also wanted to read it to me. He did a good job explaining the pictures.
I wanted to make hot fudge sundaes with the family tonight but couldn’t find the chocolate fudge sauce at the store. So, I used this recipe.
Yummy! It was a hit. I don’t think it’ll last long!
Back on our mini vacation we bought some things at Ikea. I got new curtains to replace the ones that shrunk in the dryer.
The blue is a totally different color than what was there before but it works. Luckily, the furniture and walls are neutral enough to go with a change of color. I also picked up a couple new pillows to bring more of the blue into the room. I like the change!
Somehow, I messed up my alarm and I overslept this morning. Ugh. As much as I hate getting up in the morning, it’s worse when you have to rush right out of bed and hurry. And it’s such a bummer to get to work and everyone else has already been there long enough to have questions as soon as I walk through the door.
I did have a chiro appointment though, so that was a much better way to end the day. It’s the opposite of rushing and hurrying. It’s deep breaths and eyes closed and relax the muscles. Maybe tomorrow will be a little more even.
I’m still obsessed with Bloons Tower Defense 5. My sister asked about it today. She doesn’t play it so I told her all about it. It was very amusing. She loved things like “Some monkeys can’t see camo balloons, so you need a meerkat.” “Heart balloons regenerate, so you have to pop them fast and ice and glue helps”.
Any games on your obsession list?
