It’s Election Day here in the USA. In my city, there weren’t any big issues or races on the ballot, but I felt that it was still important to vote.

After spending some time in Lexington & Concord (posts coming), and learning so much about the the start of our War for Independence, the civil right that we have to elect our own officials, to self-govern, is still an important right, all these years later. And even though I often feel like my vote doesn’t matter, it does matter that I do get to participate in these elections.

There is so much that seems broken with our current political system, and with many of our politicians, but the truth is that we still have freedoms that were hard fought for and shouldn’t be taken for granted.
